I have yet to meet a woman as determined, resourceful, energetic and spirited as Kathy Papparizos. She tells me
she is over 65+ years of age and is on a relentless quest to stay "strong, flexible and vibrant."
I met her two years ago as a new beginner student to one of my Pilates classes. She was a faithful participant and a "determined to get it" student. This summer Kathy was one of the first people to sign up for a new program I started for the summer season: TheStrengthClub Summer Fit Camp . It incorporates small group circuit-like fitness for 6-8 women and is held weekly in the local park.
Under my direction, the group runs through a circuit boot camp program involving squats, plank, pushups, lunge drills, abdominals (traditional and the pilates ab series). No one involved gets to "opt out" of any exercise. Modifications are provided but everybody does it and "rocks" the house!
Kathy, I believe, is the eldest participant in the 7:00am group! She amazed me as well as others in the group when she announced after the first session, that she was leaving to go back to the gym to a 10:15 Body Sculpt class.
She can run circles around most of the members of the much younger group (of "30-somethings") that meets at 8:30am.
Kathy's reminds us all of the EverReady Energizer Bunny! She justs keeps going and going and going. She is a joy and pleasure to watch at work!
